Apart from the various bits and pieces I do in radio/audio production, I also hold a range of IT qualifications, which count as the 'day job' to keep my car on the road and the roof over my head. Following on from school, where I left with 9 GCSE's (A-C), I continued onto full-time education for another 4 years at Newcastle College where I obtained the BTEC National Certificate for IT Practitioners and secondly a Foundation Degree in IT Systems Support.

Here's some of my core skills;

  • Windows 95-W7 Setup & Support (Including Server 2003/2008 experience)
    Includes desktop support, troubleshooting, maintenance - including hardware.
  • Network & Computer Setup & Maintenance
    Including setup/management/configuration/troubleshooting of all networking devices, wireless solutions, computer building/maintenance/support. Also proficient in cabling CAT5 (creating and running) of cables.
  • Novell Netware & Groupwise System Administrator
    Including management of Novell Netware & Groupwise users, security, file access.
  • Cisco CCNA 1 & 2 Certification
    Including experience of installing Cisco routing and switching equipment at busy locations, troubleshooting, and replacement of faulty equipment.
  • Blackberry Enterprise Server Administrator (Setup/Configuration/Support)
    Including o2 training at their Leeds Blackberry support centre.
  • Web-design / Graphics
    Experienced using Adobe/Macromedia products, namely Dreamweaver & Fireworks.
  • PHP & MySQL / Microsoft SQL
    Including experience at coding database driven websites & company systems using PHP 5 with MySQL & Microsoft SQL databases. Also data collection & manipulation, and iTAGG scripts - to save SMS text messages to databases.
